LA Times Festival of Books
For the first time BookPALS was given a booth at the 3rd Annual LA Times Festival of Books on the USC campus April20-21st. We covered lots of bases! An Interactive Storyline Online booth was set up with three laptops so kids could sample our videos. A few of our dedicated BookPALS read live to enthusiastic SoCal kids on pillows set up on the ground under the tent. We had lots of coloring pages, crayons, and glitter for the kids to enjoy. NYC Bookpals branch took the leap into classrooms for special needs children at Challenge EI in Brooklyn this week. With the fantastic and unheralded performance of Dana Marie, currently on Broadway in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, Bookpals landed with several special needs classrooms.
