Rebecca Damon, a SAG Foundation Board member, is pictured with students from the class.
The special reading day was produced by the Director of the NY BookPALS Programs, Maria Cabezas. The goal was to inspire the students to read more.

The very innovative teachers wrote letters to the students signed as Batman.

These letters included tips and tools for the students on how to become better readers such as a “magical wrist band” and the “tricky word toolbox”. During this special visit, Batman spoke with the students about how he uses these unique tools while reading.

He also did an interactive read aloud with the students. Barbara Mundy stated that “it was very exciting to see how enthusiastic the children were to be reading the book with Batman.”
