Ted Manson, Atlanta BookPAL and Dear Friend
We just received word that our dear friend and BookPAL, Ted Manson, passed away on June 1st, 2008.
The Screen Actors Guild Foundation and the Atlanta BookPALS Program is extremely saddened by this news, as are all of his fellow BookPALS, friends, and fellow actors.
Ted was one of our original Atlanta BookPALS and one of the sweetest, most humble, and sincere people I have ever met in my life. He will be sorely missed by us all. We will be dedicating our 8th Annual Summer Appreciation Picnic to Ted on June 14th.
Cindy Tinius
Atlanta BookPALS Coordinator
Ted has been reading every Tuesday morning to third-graders at Cary Reynolds Elementary School in Doraville, Georgia. He has been a truly dedicated BookPAL who not only read to children for the past seven years, but frequently participated in special events including a Spiderwick Chronicles promotion for Paramount Pictures in which he read excerpts from the book series back in February.
Ted has had an extensive film and television career including such hits as: "Talladega Nights," "Elizabethtown," "The Clearing," "Sweet Home Alabama," and the soon to be released "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," and "Cirque du Freak."
Ted was the special friend of a young boy in Mexico as part of the "Save the Children" organization. He traveled to Mexico to see the boy and to help on small construction projects in his town. He has spoken of his experiences often.
The Manson Family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to:
