Las Vegas BookPALS took students at four elementary schools on a Dr. Seuss adventure. Students at Kathy Batterman, Vegas Verdes, Ollie Detwiler and Reynoldo Martinez Elementary schools were treated to a reader's theatre version of "The Butter Battle Book".
Professional actors took on the various characters in the Butter Battle Book as the Yooks and the Zooks battled it out in a conscientious testament on the threat of war. Afterward students at the schools were encouraged to "write the next page of the story".
Students shared their views on disagreements and the importance of understanding and respecting other people's differences.
Students at John S. Park will get to witness the animation of the story in April.
