On Saturday, February 12, 2005, eight BookPALS joined with the staff, students and families of Palomino II Elementary School to help celebrate "un dia de lectura" a day of reading at the school's second annual Reading Festival.
Desipte the rainy weather hundreds of people turned out to enjoy costumed storybook characters, storytimes, face painting, dance and magic performances and food. Thanks to the following BookPALS volunteers for participating in this event: Mark Broadley, Dave Edmunds, Stacia and Chelsea Groen, Leticia Fuerte and daughter Laura, Michael Jung, Scott Muir, Carin Sprague and Vonnie Thompson.
